Hello UMREG volunteers,
Just
a friendly reminder about volunteer opportunities for the
fast-approaching Environmental Awareness Week, which will take place
January 30th - February 3rd and be kicked off with a parade through the
tunnels at 1pm on Monday, Jan 30th.
-We are
having a "creative night" on Tuesday, Jan 24th in the UMREG office (157
Helen Glass) starting at 5:30 pm to work on parade paraphernalia and a
few other EAW projects, please feel welcome to stop by. There may be
pizza involved, so let us know if you're attending. Also, all of you
are invited to make your own "floats", or dress up in costumes, or
bring portable musical instruments, or any combination of the 3, and
join us for the parade (Campo to Drake, it'll take about an hour or so).
-We
will have an UMREG table out in Campo from about 10-3 each day during
EAW with UMREG info and some sort of electrical contraption that UMREG
staff are currently working on. It would be great it we could get at
least one staff member AND a volunteer to sit at the table at all times
that workshops and speakers are not taking place. This involves very
little effort other than smiling, and is a great way to become
familiarized with environmental issues on campus, and meet UMREG staff
and other volunteers!
If you have any questions phone UMREG at 474-9118.
-Holly, Parade Marshall
