Hi all - sending this over because Sunrise is a new part of the youth climate movement that's ramping up all over the country including here in MN. Tomorrow is the first meeting of the MN group that's starting up the movement here. Anyone and everyone is welcome - please consider coming or inviting others who might be around. Meeting will be in Minneapolis.

Hi!

Just a week ago, we finished our first ever Sunrise Training in the Upper Midwest. For three days, young people from Minnesota and Wisconsin came together to talk about the political moment, share vulnerable stories, create music, and make a plan for how we’re going to change the game on climate.

Now, we’re getting ready to bring on the heat. This August, when our sentators and representatives come home for their townhalls and fancy fundraisers, we will #ShineALight on the corruption and negligence of our Congresspeople and ask them: why haven’t you done everything in your power to resist Trump’s fossil fueled agenda and protect our health, home, and future?

We have people geared up and ready to plan these events. If we make this big, we can send a resounding message to people around the country: if politicians don’t start standing up to fossil fuel billionaires, there are thousands and thousands of young people around the country ready to put them out of a job.

But here in Minnesota, we need you there to help us. Can you make it this Tuesday at 7:00 pm in Minneapolis for our FIRST EVER Twin Cities Sunrise Hub Meeting? RSVP now on Facebook.

This is the beginning of our plan to take back our economy and our democracy from elite fossil fuel billionaires and build a society that works for all of us. We’ll be talking about Sunrise, how we got here, and our plan to #ShineALight on political corruption and negligence.  I’m ready to send politicians a clear message: they can’t ignore our voices any longer. Will you join me?

See you soon,

Aru Shiney-Ajay
