Hello current officers of Fossil Free Minnesota,
My name is Rachael Grunfelder and I am the Minnesota Student Association's Sustainability Committee Director. I have been working on a position statement with several other committee members to pass through MSA to show student support relating to solar power / renewable energy on campus.
We are looking for student group sponsors to support our position statement. We have reached out to all student groups that relate to renewable energy and/or sustainable initiatives on campus, and it would be great to add you as a sponsor to our position statement.
Just a little background: we have been in conversation with Shane Stennes, Director of Sustainability for the University of Minnesota, as well as Ellen Anderson, Executive Director for the Energy Transition Lab. Ellen also co-teaches a Grand Challenges Curriculum course focused on renewable energy and oversees the SUN Delegation, a group that is working on researching renewables, specifically solar, and how the University can invest in 1 megawatt of solar.
This position statement was written because the Office of Sustainability requested that student show their support on this topic. Please review the position statement that is attached with your fellow officers/student group and let me know if your group would be willing to be added as a sponsor of our position statement.
