NOTICE: Changes to security mailing list

Given the imminent departure of John Ladwig, who has been providing a
substantial service by forwarding security alerts to this list; and
given the relatively recent convention of using security@<domain> for
security-related abuse reports, this list will undergo some changes,
effective today.
Since John will no longer be editing and forwarding security advisories,
this list will be subscribed to the SANS Security Alert Consensus and
SANS NewsBites mailing lists. Each of these lists provides a weekly
update on current advisories & security news. While we'll miss John's
comments, the SANS alerts do provide timely notification of advisories.
While we are changing the list, we will rename it to
umn-se...@nts.umn.edu. This mailing list will still be intended for
general-purpose discussions of security-related issues around the
University. Subscription will continue to be open to anyone requesting
it. It will not, however, be usenet archived.
Most of these changes will be transparent to members of this list;
however, future email to the list should be sent to
umn-se...@nts.umn.edu
