I wanted to follow up on two things we talked about last week:
1) Dean Horowitz: Did someone say they were going to get her a card?
If you did, let me know, otherwise, I will just plan to pick up a card
for her from the class, and inform the class about it via email.
2) May 2nd event: If lawn-bowling doesn't work out, we could go to
Legends--great happy hour plus they have parking, and it's still close
to the U. Serena, have you heard anything from Brit's?

It seems that are a couple ways we could go about setting up the lawn
bowling. We could either make reservations for the Green for $150/hr, which
includes all 4 "rinks", or we could set up a "private event". If we want to
make reservations, we have to wait until 2 weeks prior to when we want to
reserve, and then we can only get what is available (i.e. what has not
already been booked by a private party). If we do the private party thing,
they will give us a reserved eating/drinking area (indoor or outdoor) in
addition to the lawn bowling area, but there is a minimum food/drink
purchase, and gratuity is included. I will call today to discuss the
availability and what the minimum purchase is. Also, the lawn bowling on
weekend days doesn't start until mid-May, so I will need to find out if
lawn bowling is even open at the beginning of May. I will send another
email out as soon as I get in touch with the reservation and events
coordinator at Brits.
Thanks.

Subject: [UMN-Council-09] Re: Extra $$$
If we want to do Sally's on Thursday, I have to order apps today. If
no one has any objections, I will do that later this afternoon. I will
plan to spend about $400 on food.
We also need more info on Brit's, about how much the minimum is... but
depending on what that answer is, we should also be able to do that (if
not available on May 2nd, could even do later this summer). Then any
leftover money can go to books.
Please be in touch.

To rent all four of greens for lawn bowling costs $150/hr; we would have to
decide how long we wanted to sponsor and if we wanted to buy appetizers in
addition.
