Temporary Steering Committee meeting

On saturday 6 June 2008 we held a temporary Steering committee meeting
in Kwamsane township. There was much to talk about, and progress has
been made on some fronts.

Umkhanykude Volleyball Association has opened a bank account in the
name of the Association with FNB Mtubatuba. This will open the way
forward for when we get sponors.

Opening a bank account in the associations name is an important mile
stone for us, and the begining of a long road to financing the many
sports grounds and associated buildings within Umkhanyakude District
Municipality where our members will be comming from.

We also discussed sponsors and what sponsor require of us as
Umkhanyakude Volleyball association.. We understand that they
(sponsors) do not want to throw their money into a black bottomless
pit, but that sponsors require some kind of return on their
investment.

We also discussed membership requirements and club issues. We felt
that clubs must be the first step, and that members must firstly be
members of a club, the club must the afiliate to UVA (Umkhanyakude
Volleyball Association). UVA will affiliate to KZN Volleyball, and
register all those who have paid their club fees as well as player
registration fees with K|ZN Volleyball.

This will then allow us to run a well oganised league, where only
registered players and teams may compete for the title and trophy

So if you live in Umkhanyakude and want to play volleyball seriously,
find a club, or form a new club and then affilate to UVA (Umkhanyakude
Volleyball Associatio)
