Why no umich "general" discussion newsgroups?

Hi. I'm new here. I've been unable to find any umich.general,
umich.misc, or umich.whazzat newsgroups. Where does one go for
discussions of unstructured generic trivia on UM or A2 topics?

I always thought this was it. There's never been any talk on it though.
There's also a umich.eecs.misc, but that's empty too.
