"Manufacturing - the eFuture"
=46riday, February 4, 2000
3:30-4:30 PM (reception to follow)
Chrysler Auditorum
University of Michigan - College of Engineering
North Campus
The Internet is everywhere you look today. With it comes a wealth of=20
new ideas, new opportunities and new customers. As the world's=20
largest manufacturer, GM is taking a leading role in this area with=20
the creation of a new business unit, eGM, in August of last year.
But we aren't stopping there. eCommerce has tremendous potential for=20
increasing revenues. But eBusiness will have even a greater impact=20
on the automotive industry - on the vehicle itself, on the product=20
development cycle, on customer delivery, and on the entire=20
manufacturing process.
It's not just about technology - or the speed of the Internet. It's=20
about driving change throughout the manufacturing community, and=20
creating an eFuture. It's about leadership and communications - from=20
the top executive to every operator on the plant floor.
Mr. Cowger will discuss these challenges for manufacturing leaders=20
and their opportunities in the eFuture.
