Prior to the Henry Russel Award Presentation for Prof. Gerard A. Mourou,
there will be a pre-ceremony laser symposium entitled "Ultrafast Lasers
in Ann Arbor: The Roots of Modern Technologies".

Henry Russel Award Ceremony Announcement:

2002 Russel Lecturer
The U-M regents announced the selection of Gerard A. Mourou as the
2002 Henry Russel Lecturer, the highest honor a senior faculty member
can receive from the University. Mourou, the A. D. Moore Distinguished
University Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, will
deliver his lecture titled "Ultra-High Intensity Laser: A Revolutionary
Tool in Engineering, Physics, and Medicine."

Time: 4:00 p.m.
Location: Michigan League Ballroom
Open to the University community, reception to follow.
