Amit Garg (http://nodeknockout.com/people/f81f6a4c1bbe0f6f76100000 ) was
the first Expert Judge (http://nodeknockout.com/judging#judges ) to
review our submission, here are his comments and ratings:
"I didn't have an iPad to test with so could only check the video demo.
Very neat and I can definitely see multiple applications."

Thanks again guys, I still plan to do a blog post about the weekend and
upload some short videos of the demos to Vimeo soon, and I will update
this thread as soon as more judges post their reviews :)
I had a great time, and I want to take this project forward.

quite easy to understand. While I didn't have access to an iPad for the
audio demo I was able to load it on my iPhone and achieved a similar
result. Definitely an interesting idea but certainly one that will need
more refinement and documentation before hitting the big time. I would
probably call it something like "Remote control" or some such to play up
that angle (the scissor metaphor did not extend well)."

We definitely need to improve our message, documentation and examples.
If John Resig can't understand it and thinks our entry is a simple
"remote control for web apps" as smart as he is, then other people might
not get it as well. We need that gallery of example pages done :)

What about tweaking only the Introduction paragraph?
My suggestion:
# Introduction #
Web pages and web applications today normally runs on a single
screen/device. Wouldn't it be cool if an application UI could be divided
and distributed over multiple devices?
That's what our project is trying to fix. We want people to break/split
a web page to use it with two or more devices instead of being locked in
the borders of one single browser window.
We call this type of web applications "Sliceable Apps", and the Umeboshi
Server(our entry) is the infrastructure that provides the communication
channels that make this possible.
The Umeboshi server makes it possible for separated html pages
communicate with each other.

I think this can start good discussions and helps us get a better idea
on how to evolve the project once the competition ends, kudos for the
node knockout organization, I really liked that they've gave us this
feature :)
Please let me know what you guys think of the new one:

Also, I have made a very easy to understand screencast in English, it is
exporting right now and is another attempt to explain for the gringos
WTF our project is about :P
I'll let you guys know when it is online on Vimeo.
Go Umeboshi!

"The proposal to free the single screen and create sliceable apps is
very intriguing, but it seems abstract still! Can you give an example of
why this would be useful or cool? What kind of sites or UI elements
would want to be sliced? What kind of messages would these pages send to
each other? How would the user perceive them? Your front page showcases
the "slice me" icon, but it wasn't interactive. It would have been cool
to hold a demo in there. I tried the video demo on my iPhone 3GS and I
couldn't see anything. You could provide a short URL for ease of typing
into mobile. The site mentions that mobile devices (like my iPhone?)
work but then in the music demo page it mentions only an iPad. The music
demo page seems unfinished? I'm intrigued by your concept--you clearly
believe in it--but it is hard to see why! Show us!"

"Overall, great concept. It was a bit difficult to figure out it out. I
really had to work for it. Maybe a quick video demo or screenshot
slideshow might help. I cut and paste the URL and sent it to my phone
from my laptop via email. Maybe you could do that for the user? Also,
the "slice" language and explanation didn't quite resonate... is there a
better metaphor that you could use? A list of example use cases might
help explain the big idea. Seems like it has lots of potential
applications. Really impressive work in 48 hours! Congrats!"
