At the moment of this writing our entry figured as the 4th place in the
Innovation category, no iPad for us, but still an awesome achievement :)

The important thing is that we got valuable feedback and I think we have
a pretty good idea of what needs to be done.

We can commit code and update the website now, any suggestions on what
to do first?

Some of my questions/suggestions:

* Demos: I want to do a new demo. The distributed Simon game, where each
button is a detachable element and has an URL
* Demos: improve the music demo, and make a better initial page for it
* Home page: rewrite the text of the homepage from scratch, include the
"Detacheable UI" screencast embedded somewhere.
* Documentation: a reference of our REST API
* Documentation: a getting started guide
* Server: maybe cleanup the repository to remove the old folder and make
the demos, to make it a smaller download for people that wants to run
locally and people that wants to contribute code
* Documentation: write a better README for people that will use the code
* Open Source: discuss what we want to do with our code and if we are
going to open source it, and if so, which license to use.
* Product Name/Domain name/Metaphor: do you guys want to eventually
change that pretty long and difficult URL we have? Do we want to review
the slice metaphor(a couple of judges found it bad)?

I guess that's it for now, I want to continue the project but I
understand that everyone have other projects, work and life to
handle(and I wish someone would fund us to focus and spent more time on
this fun stuff, maybe we should ask for money on Kickstarter or Mozilla
Drumbeat).

Still it will be cool if we can organize ourselves someway and keep the
team, maybe an IRC channel or scheduled meetups over Skype is an option.
No pressure or any hard commitment, just something to let dream alive.

Gathering everyone in So Carlos or So Paulo for a post-mortem kind of
meeting or a beer, or even another code/design sprint would be fun
though, I am open to that :)

* Server: maybe cleanup the repository to remove the old folder move the
demos to somewhere else(other repo maybe), to make the server code a
smaller download(that doesnt include 50MB of radiohead tracks) for

people that wants to run locally and people that wants to contribute code

I'm going to work on shrinking our repository and improving our
umeboshi server code a bit.

I'm starting to make some changes on music demo (using Mootools BTW), I'll host this new version on my website. So, i think we could remove 'demos' folder from Git

PS.: the github repo is ours forever? And joyent?

I am not sure, but I have forked the repo to my account just in case :)

Well done guys.
I agree with Fabricio: we missed the iPads, iPhones and other cool prizes but did well anyway.
Being top 5 in innovation among over 200 groups is something to be respected.

=)

Now, talking about the adjustments:
I'll be quite busy the next two weeks but feel free to request something u guys need.

FIY I've tagged the last commit before our delivery "nodeko", so we now
have that version tagged on github:

http://github.com/nko/umeboshi-fireteam/tree/nodeko

Just in case :)

What you guys think of this as the new home page text:

- ---------------------

== Preview:

[Embedded screencast from vimeo]

== Thank you message from the Umeboshi Fireteam:

We have received lots of <a
href="http://nodeknockout.com/teams/umeboshi-fireteam">great
feedback</a> from the NodeKO Judges, Participants and voters. Thanks to
your reviews we managed to figure out in the <a
href="http://nodeknockout.com/teams#innovation">top 5 of the Innovation
category</a>.<strong>Thats awesome!</strong>

As a consequence of that, we are now building a new home page, as well
as more examples and demos. So please bear with us while the new website
is not ready. The old home page can still be accessed <a
href="knockout-home.html">here</a>.

The channels server and the REST API are still up and running which
means that the exiting demos and any new one that people were possibly
developing that uses them still work ok. But do not rely on them for any
real-world application because the API can and will change.

== Help us take this to the next level:

We want to continue developing this project, since we think it is
relevant and cool. But we also have our daily lives to manage :)

The Umeboshi Fireteam is not a company, just a group of friends. Free
thinking developers from Brazil that have other commitments of their
own. Our group is a mix of freelancers, student, unemployed and employed
people, and while we would love to be able/sponsored to focus deeply
into this project, for now we are working on it on our spare time and
coordinating the tasks over the mailing list. Which means that the help
from the community is vital.

So please, <a href="http://groups.google.com/group/umeboshi-team">join
our group</a> to be part of the conversation, or <a
href="https://spreadsheets.google.com/viewform?formkey=dDF1cnYzWldDUTBGbUZpWkJ2aG90REE6MQ">fill
this form</a> to leave a comment and be notified of important updates
and releases, or simply follow the <a
href="http://github.com/nko/umeboshi-fireteam">git repository</a> to
watch the updates as they happen.
