Dearest activists,
This Friday (Nov 21) will mark the first day of the
10th Anniversary International Students for Sensible Drug Policy Conference. Our campus will be flooded with
hundreds of drug policy reformers from all over the US, Canada, and even the UK who believe drug use should be a health issue, not a criminal one and that we should look into sensible alternatives to the government's War on Drugs.
Friday, we will be
lobbying in DC on crack cocaine disparities.
Saturday, we will be hearing from
famous drug policy reformers on a wide range of topics.
Sunday, we will be learning
key advocacy skills from professional activists
, ranging from fundraising techniques to elevator arguments, to media relations.
Registration for UMD students is really cheap, only $15/day or $35/weekend. Please
register online today at
www.ssdp.org/conference and don't miss out! If your student group has a facebook group or listserve, we'd love your help in spreading the word as well.
