Hey Team Tunnel!

We had a great, productive meeting tonight, and wanted to update you on upcoming events and happenings!! I know it's a really dense email, but

Upcoming Events & Initiatives:

*Nov 12-13: Bake Sale in front of Stamp Student Union

11am-3pm each day

If you can help out and table, please PLEASE let us know so we can get you on the schedule!  (see below for current schedule.)

Bake away, and come bring by your baked goods. If you'd like to drop them off the night before with someone, email us back and we'll see what we can do. 

We'll even have kosher options!

We really need people to volunteer Thursday from 11-12:30.

*Co-Op Food Drive: (exact dates TBA)

We're in the process of setting up an account with the Co-Op. Over the next month or so, we'll be going in groups to volunteer at the Co-Op under the Tunnel of Oppression name. We will earn $7 an hour for every person who volunteers. Our goal is to raise about $400. With this money, we will place on order for food supplies. We'll make sandwiches, then go and hand them out to the homeless in DC.

In addition, we're going to have an informal clothing drive. If you'd be interested in setting up a box in your dorm or student org office, let us know and we can provide you with a box. At a future meeting, we'll have a knit-in and make hats and scarves. Michelle can knit scarves, and Deborah crochets hats, so you don't know how-- we'll teach ya!

*Nov 16: Living in Terror: Voices of Hope (co-sponsored with Tzedek Hillel)

Living In Terror: Voices of Hope

Come hear two civilians, from the Middle East, speak about how their lives have been altered by consistent bombs dictating and disrupting their every move as they live in terror. Hearing people talk about their stories are priceless, its not a news report and its not something you learn in history, it's live learning.

*Nov 17: General Body Meeting; 0220 Jimenez

We'll begin building mini-Tunnel, update on our Food Drive progress, and discuss our visit to DC

*Nov 20: field trip to DC with Araina

Araina Ford, one of our members, works with incarcerated girls in DC. They're going to be working on one of the Tunnel rooms with us, so we're going to go down to DC to meet them and work on Mini-Tunnel with them. 

*Dec 1: Mini-Tunnel:

Mini-Tunnel will take place each month in display cases in the Stamp Student Union. Each month, we will present a different issues that will be tackled more in-depth in the Tunnel in April. 

*Finals Week: Coffee & Hot Chocolate Sale:

we'll use any leftover food credit from the Co-Op to get coffee and hot chocolate, and sell it outside of Stamp!
