The main web site is gone. I can't see posts newer than 2017. Is this still available?

The wiki lives alongside the code on GitHub: https://github.com/makestuff/umdkv2/wiki

I have not touched it for a few years so it may have suffered some bit-rot. Let us know if you encounter problems.

Thanks. Is anyone here selling their board, I wonder? If it’s hanging round doing nothing…

Hello,

I put together a group order in 2017.  I know that some of the
developers used their UMDK kits for productive work but I haven't heard
from all who bought one.

We've been discussing ideas about putting together a new group order and
there has been interest but I'm to say that it's hard to communicate
without an effective platform.  I'm still barred from posting on
Spritesmind - ask kaneda why he chose to do this.

If enough people post to this UMDK group their interest then I'll see
about getting another order put together.

I saw there was some friction on Spritesmind :-(

I don't know if there still is 'friction' but yes, there was some in the
past.  Still, what's important is that people use UMDK.

I have records here of all the prices and quotes that I got back in 2017
but it really becmae more affordable to have it manufactured and tested
for an order of 20 kits - we only actually had 18 or 17 of them made and
some people bought more than one kit.

If it is at all possible ask around your friends and associates and see
if anyone else wishes to have their own UMDK kit.  I know that in the
last year I've had about 4 people ask me if I still had any for sale.

Spread the word and let's see what we can do.  The last time all but one
kit had problems and we managed to diagnose the problem on the forum and
through E-Mail - not bad.  Keep us posted ;)

Correction should be :  The last time all kits had no problems but one
and we managed to diagnose the problem on the forum and through E-Mail -
not bad.

I'm losing my ability to use English :D

Is it possible to ask a few questions about its execution, etc? For example, I watched the three YT videos where the UMDK was demonstrated, and I was fascinated how it managed to be able to pause program execution during the Sonic game. And the interception of illegal commands to allow breakpoints - assuming I’ve understood this correctly - I’d love more info as to how this was achieved with only access to the cartridge port.

There are some FAQs here: https://hackaday.io/project/1507-usb-megadrive-devkit

I *think* that explains it, but if you read it and still have questions I’d be happy to answer them here.
