Hi,
I am checking in on a flyer w/ info re: the connector road, who to contact to oppose, how one can get involved/who to write, info: re the Save Golf Course efforts, etc. Double sided is fine. I will hand deliver if I have one to as many homes in Buck Lodge/White Oak Manor as I can as well as Acredale. However, I am not planning on drafting one for many reasons.
I understand the need to continually write our elected officials in opposition, but that is of little value if the masses are not alerted. As far as I know, there are only 20 people in the Buck Lodge-White Oak Manor listserve and I believe half of them, or more, are either elected officials or their staff. Considering this neighborhood abuts the connector road, is on the other side of College Park Woods, and will be one of the most greatly impacted neighborhoods, I think it would be critical to reach out to this neighborhood with something like 500 homes.
Otherwise, right now, the elected officials are hearing from all the same people, and likely just a small percentage of all those who oppose it – how many take time to write their elected officials.
If someone has a flyer, I will print and distribute. Frankly, there should be a flyer in any event available that could be distributed quickly as many homeowners in this neck of the woods are still not on-line.
Thank you.
Kari Fisher
Hi
We are having a meeting on October 30……Joseline is speaking here too.
If you make a flier up, we could distribute it too….either with the printed newsletter….which is hand delivered and reaches everyone in the area…..of at the meeting.
Thanks.

President, Hillandale Gardens/Knollwood/Adelphi area Citizens Association
Hi,
Hillandale Gardens is also planning a meeting (that is the default Buck Lodge-White Oak Manor association and serves many civic associations in Adelphi, which is on the other side of West College Park). Pat – when is your meeting? I don’t want to infringe on Pat’s agenda but having a MGCC member attend that would probably be fruitful. And on the flip side, the other strong civic group in Adelphi is CSTCA.
This flyer is really helpful, but it doesn’t mention the connector road. While I am in strong support of saving the golf course, I think folks in the Woods and BLWOM will be more immediately concerned with the connector road.
I think the flyer is a great page 1; but before I distributed it, I would want more info on 1) upcoming meetings like both the Woods and Hillandale meeting later this month – so that locals can get involved in person; also more info re: the road; and how to join the local listserves; maybe Doyle’s info can be added as points; I have to reread to see if there was info on the roads.
I am kind of thinking out loud, but I would not distribute the flyer unless it included info on the connector road and at least Pat’s meeting as well as how to join the area listserves.
So I will think further on that.
Thanks.
Kari

Hi Kari and all,
I had sent our the email below on Monday to our list serve announcing our meeting and the topics for discussion.
I hope people on our list served received it.
I’ll be writing a newsletter for our area hopefully this weekend.
I’ll be putting something in it about the golf course.
I agree with Kari…..the major impact on our area is going to be the roads and traffic and that has to be loud and clear.
I HAVE NOT RECEIVED A DRAFT COPY OR COPY OF ANY FLIER!
Please let me know if there is one to be had!
Thanks…..
Pat
