UMCP LiNK (Liberty in North Korea) is having a screening for the movie
"The Crossing" on December 2, 2009!
"Crossing" follows a North Korean man and the hardships he and his
family experience, based on the true accounts of hundreds of North
Korean refugees. Actor Cha In-pyo stars as a North Korean coal miner
who crossed illegally into China to get medicine for his wife.
However, shortly after he crosses (& despite his knowledge), his wife
dies and leaves their 11-year old son to fend for himself. This movie
depicts the suffering that North Koreans have to endure as a result of
the oppression the North Korean government subjects their citizens
to.
Come out and learn about the crisis in North Korea by watching this
movie! Although the movie will be in Korean, there will be English
subtitles! I guarantee that it will be an eye-opening experience.
Bring your friends as well!
Doors will open at 7:30pm and the actual screening of the movie will
start around 8:00pm. Please be on time!
