Hey Everyone! 

It's hard to believe that another year has already passed and our 
annual Basics I class is fast approaching!  As always, our best 
advertising is YOU, our previous graduates, and we would be very 
appreciative if you could pass along this announcement to any of your 
friends, family, or colleagues who might be interested in taking the 
class.  As always, the class is FREE, runs about 3 hours, is very 
visually oriented, and will once again include a pizza/soda lunch.

National Weather Service Storm Spotter Basics I Class 

Saturday, February 13 
11 AM – 3 PM 
Martin Hall (Engineering), Room 1202 

Have you ever wanted to learn more about thunderstorms, hurricanes, 
tornadoes and other severe storms?  Would you know how to protect 
yourself and others in a severe weather emergency?  Well, now's your 
chance to find out!  The National Weather Service is coming to campus 
on Feb. 13 to teach their "Basics I" introductory storm spotter 
class.  There are no prerequisites, and anyone over 14 years of age is 
eligible to become a certified storm spotter.  The class is FREE but 
please register online at http://www.atmos.umd.edu/~gcm/wiki/skywarn.html 
to ensure a space.  A free pizza/soda lunch will be provided to all 
courtesy of the Graduate Student Government.  If you have any
