I am sorry to share with you all the news of Philip Fregeau's death.
Many of you remember Philip from the time that he worked at our
church. I have posted his obituary below. You will notice that his
funeral service will be help on Friday, May 22, 10 a.m. at the O'Brien
Funeral Home in Bristol, CT.

FREGEAU-FLYTE, Philip A. Philip A. Fregeau-Flyte, 49, of Bristol,
passed away on Monday, (May 18, 2009) at his residence. Philip was
born on January 1, 1960 in Hartford, a son of Lucie and Grace (Chaput)
Fregeau. Philip was employed by the HRA Wellness Resource Center
(formally Someplace Special) for nearly 12 years. Phil was recently
honored by the HRA for his major contribution to the success of the
wellness center by having the community center room named "The Philip
A. Fregeau Community Room" A portion of the inscription reads "A
valued and dedicated employee of the HRA who has work to strengthen
the bond between customers and staff." Phil was also one of the
founding members of the New Britain Mayor's Advisory Committee on
AIDS. Phil has been working with the HIV positive and those affected
in New Britain for over the last 13 years, organizing, coordinating
and facilitating services at the Wellness Resource Center. Phil was
always willing to put others before himself in work and family. Phil's
work with the community has touched hundred, maybe even thousands, of
people who are living with HIV/AIDS or are affected by it in some way.
Phil is survived by his partner of 14 years, Kenneth J. Flyte; his
mother, Grace Fregeau-Fulcher of Poland, ME; three sisters, Susan
Fantasia of Poland, ME, LouAnne Porrini of Bristol and Sandra Miller
also of Bristol; four brothers, William S. Rogers of Somers, David
Rogers, Paul Fregeau and Danny Combs all of Bristol; along with
several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and a world of
friends. Phil will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be held on
Friday, May 22, at 10 a.m. at O'Brien Funeral Home, 24 Lincoln Ave.,
Bristol. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, Terryville. Calling
hours will be from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday evening at the funeral home.
