Dear Christine and Nora Anne

The Upper Merion Cultural Fair Committee (UMCFC) has been created to advance the idea of having a Cultural Fair in Upper Merion once every year going forward to celebrate the increasingly diverse nature of the resident population in the Township. Earlier this year, the Upper Merion Board of Supervisors endorsed our idea of designating a special day of the year to celebrate this diversity and hold a Cultural Fair. Since time is short this year and we are still a small group with limited resources, we are going to have a tent at the annual Upper Merion Township Community Fair on Saturday, September 10th, 2011 to raise awareness about our ideas and our mission. At our tent we will have multiple displays, including a display of Greetings in different languages; a display dealing with Cultural Etiquette;  a Testimonial Book in which we hope people will stop by and share a few sentences on their journey to Upper Merion; a display of musical instruments from around the world and books and literature as well. We will also have a sort of Cultural Jeopardy game, a chance for someone to win an American Flag and an Upper Merion Flag. Many of the members of the committee are also bringing samples of food from different cuisines representative of a "cultural menu" for people to try and enjoy. In addition to all of this, one of our committee members is choreographing a "Bollywood" style dance with children in her dance classes that will be performed near the Gazebo in the Twp. park where the fair is held. There is also the possibilty of the multi-cultural percussion band Spoken Hand (spokenhand.org) playing at this event.

We hope that the King of Prussia Players, of which our family is also a member, will help us share the news of this event and help us spread the word in the future. But more importantly, for this years event, were hoping that other members of the Players that are experienced in other forms of dance or music that represent different countries around the world, might be willing to participate in our event. We would welcome such involvement and anyone who is interested can contact us at um...@googlegroups.com . We also spoke at our last meeting about how nice it would be if some representatives of the Cast of The King and I would be willing to sing "Getting to Know You" at this event. Just imagine the picture of our Cast members singing this song, while waiving little flags from around the world as they perform. We think this would be a wonderful opportunity for the Players to also raise awareness of their activities and their plans for the new theater at Moore Road. However, time is short and arrangements have to be made. This Fair is a Township fair and other acts will also be performing. We hope that we can block of a section of time for those acts performing in relation to UMCFC. If we can get the Players to participate, we would be very grateful. All ideas are of course welcome and we will be meeting almost weekly from now until the day of the event. Thank You for your time and help.

I will do both by thus evening but may not be able to get to it until around 8 or 9 pm. Is that okay? When you say compressed, do you mean a small file size (lower resolution/smaller canvas) or do you mean zipping (.zip) the file?

Thanks for your help!
