FUTURE PLANS

·         Because of our strategic location and UMCB being the hosts of the Namirembe Diocese Youth MDD competitions, we believe that Youth MDD and Missions continues to be a strong pillar of the church and we realize we couldn’t have achieved all our set objectives without church’s support. Our Average Cost for the Participation in previous MDD competitions has been 1.25 million Ushs.  So there is need to purchase some of the always recurring expensive items such as instruments and costumes to reduce on that budget.

·         We would also desire our parents to inspire our youth into participating in the Leadership seminars and trainings/one week camps where they can be equipped with personality and people skills, discipleship skills etc. Youth Camps are very instrumental in reaching out to the community youths because most of its members are either reformed or non reformed (addicts, convicts) and because of this many young people can identify with these programs for counselling and practical biblical solutions.

·         In partnership with Church, we hope to work hand in hand with them to achieve its objectives by fundraising for some of its projects.  But in an effort to stop the great exodus of the youth who are leaving our Church on the pretext of seeking for more lively services especially to the Pentecostal Churches, we would like to strengthen the quality of our youth movement in Church, by maintaining their presence in our Church as well as boosting the growth and the quality of the praise and worship, more especially like those of Namirembe Cathedral, All Saints Cathedral, Katwe Matry’s, St. Lukes kibuye and St. John’s Entebbe Church.

SOME OF THE WORSHIP MINISTRY NEEDS

1.     Microphones (Shure/Audio technique)                     4 of them

2.     Filming equipment – video projector                1 of them

3.     Drum kit (full set)                                        2,500,000/=

4.     Tripod screen (MACH 96x96)                                   1,300,000/=

5.     Box speakers (Yamaha/Peavey 500 watts)     4 of them

6.     Electric guitar’s (1 pair)                                700,000/=

We believe we can march this fundraising by visiting different churches to minister as well as inviting them to our church to do the same. In a space of every 3 months, an instrument can be bought. Climax would be on the Carols Day service.

·         During the first term holiday or on a family day, we would wish to coordinate UMCB Parish Mini-Sports tournament at UMCB church grounds, which would attract over 100 people from the three zones of the community to play and work together and thereafter get to hear some remarks of insight from dignitaries including the area Chief, some church elders and various influential leaders who feel a need to be associated with the Event. This would bring in a community touch that is required to gauge one level of determining opportunities, success and relevance.

·         - Coordinating a quarterly cleanup exercise (Car washing) with an aim of engaging young people, mainly Sons of the King, in activities that would not only bring individual growth but community growth as well as funds to the department. Targeting: 25+ vehicles per car wash activity

·         - Establishing an organic farm on either Bigiri site or church land that that would provide food security to the local population. (ideally, land should be about  90 by 30m )

·         We hope to start up a self help revolving Youth fund that would support 20 young women to start at least one small scale business/project every year). The money will belong to the Youth Fund and the DOK participants will be responsible for each other. The businesses that we are looking at running included kiosks, hair salons, second hand clothes stalls, food stalls, a charcoal business and so on. The average cost of starting such a fund is 3 million Ushs. In turn, an office may be required to run these activities.

·         Borrowing a leaf from the Katwe martyrs Youth, we hope to lease the main hall for a temporary structure of a day care centre/ Internet cafe that would target about 120 kids who would be divided into four classrooms which is about 10 by 8m.The centre would employ about four - seven youth. However venue space will be reserved for the MDD competitions as per season of need. More Details would follow soon.

·         In approval of the Day Care/Cafe project, we hope to construct three toilets and bathrooms for the main facility.

Dear Kenny,

this is very objective of you and am hoping this time, there will be more focus to
acheive something by the end of the year. This being March am not sure the day
care will start soon since alot of money needs to be raised BUT if there was money,
it would be a good enough venture.

It would help if you had placed some activities on the calender, say Car Wash every
quater would be April, July, October, January --- considering that December is too
busy. Otherwise thanks for this.

GBU.
Judy.
