Hi guys,

I was experimenting with reusing content types for a new tree with new object types.

I’d like to reuse the content types, but have a new tree of content.

When fiddling with it, it turns out that it’s not possible at all to create a new Umbraco object type, for the simple reason that UmbracoObjectTypes is an enum.

The database certainly supports adding object types with umbracoNode as the base table, but the API currently prohibits any form of extension.

Umbraco would be a lot more extendable if UmbracoObjectTypes was anything but an enum and the guids were defined in any other way than attributes.

I have no further requirements or suggestions, but being able to add object types and reuse EntityRepository would be sweet.

At least it’s something to think about for 8.0. ;)

Vennlig hilsen
