Looking at my time and the Liverpool Digital Events Calendar. https://www.google.com/calendar/embed?src=YTlwM3M1bG0zMnRrNzVlNzRwdG1za2sycjRAZ3JvdXAuY2FsZW5kYXIuZ29vZ2xlLmNvbQ&gsessionid=UdeKlV4EgLyM3C08SWRz2w

I am thinking a date in mid/late may might be good for an umbraco meet in liverpool. ( 22nd May ?)

Venue
I see three options, depending on numbers

1. a few  (< 10) we take over the corner of a pub
2. some (10 > 30 ) we get a free bit of space (i've spoken to a few people and i can get this size for free minus food/drink)
3. more (30+) we get a bigger space :) - again i have a few options,

2 & 3 would need some cash for pizzas / beer but are still low costs.

anyone have any ideas ?

Structure
1. A Few : informal chat
2: Some: informal maybe a talk or to
3: more: a few talks ?

again anyone have any ideas for talks ?

Hi Kevin,

I think you are spot on regarding the venue - what is appropriate really depends on the numbers. Unless there's going to be designated speakers, then something informal (preferably with beer on hand ;-)) would be good.

Regarding structure, I think even if it's going to be informal it's good to have some kind of agenda or topics on hand to discuss - just helps to get the ball rolling. It would be even better if someone had something in particular to contribute (particularly if they were a well-know member).

A few random idea for topics:
  • What would you like to see in Project Belle?
  • Is Umbraco as a Service (Concord) something that interests you?
  • What little-know package gems do you use?
  • What do clients love / hate about Umbraco
Look forward to hearing what other people have to say...

Dan

Hi -

I've penciled in the 22nd of May with the people at DoES liverpool for a venue - i'm going to confirm but from memory they can do around 20-30 people - but food and stuff will have to be something we bring.

Once that's confirmed i create an event - if it doesn't get much interest we can decamp to a pub instead.

I think Dan's Topics are a good starter . i know a few people who could contribute specifics, i might start a list of speakers at some point - so i can pressgang people if needed :)
