Currently Facilities are in the model as entire buildings, spaces, and
sites. Recommend replacing with the OmniClass tables for Facility
Types and Space Types, possibly CityGML for sites. Current working
OmniClass tables are available on request, previous versions are here

Hi,

The general approach with UMBEL's own reference concepts has been to use
a single source reference structure, OpenCyc, in order to maintain
coherence of viewpoint and possible interoperability with the broader
Cyc capabilities.

In this instance (indeed for most additional, detailed vocabularies),
the recommended practice is to "map" existing UMBEL classes (concepts)
to the external ontology (in this case, OmniClass), using one of the
UMBEL mapping predicates [1].

There are many sub-classes under UMBEL Facilities that would also likely
be suitable for mapping to OmniClass.

Via this approach, the reference structure of UMBEL may be maintained
while extending it with more detailed vocabularies useful to particular
domains. Let us know if some additional pointers in this regard would be
helpful.

Thanks!

Mike
