Jon Squire

[Morty Abzug]

Jon Squire has passed on. He was the LUG's long-time faculty advisor,
and loved the LUG dearly. The LUG is even mentioned in his obituary.

There is an event tonight and services tomorrow. Sorry for the short

my deepest condolences to his family and friends. I did not meet him
until many years after I was graduated but his ability to discuss on an
level basis complicated issues means that his students were lucky indeed.

I'm sorry to hear that. Jon made frequent appearances at the CSEEIT office back

when I worked there and was always a pleasure to work with, often bringing us the

most interesting problems to look at. (Though I will admit we occasionally cursed 

his name for how unique his desktop was whenever it came time to update it. 

Being a power user is not without its challenges!)

He was an excellent advisor for the LUG; he is missed.

Sad to hear of his passing, yet happy to hear of the lives he's touched along his journey.

I certainly remember taking one of his classes while pursuing my Computer Engineering degree in the early 2000s.
