Presumably you got the below email. If you have an idea and need help fleshing it out, I would be happy to help especially if you see a need for IT improvement within Astronomy or the Observatory!

Subject: Student Technology Fee Call for Proposals 2021

Dear Students,

The Student IT Advisory Committee (ITAC) invites members of the UMD community, especially students, to submit proposals online before 5 p.m. on Friday, April 30, 2021.

Every year, a portion of the Student Technology Fee funds is allocated to award projects proposed by University of Maryland community members. Successful proposals should aim at providing strategic enhancements to campus-wide IT services. The Student IT Advisory Committee, composed of student representatives from many UMD colleges and schools, reviews all proposals and makes recommendations to the Vice President and Chief Information Officer on how to distribute the allocated funds to projects deemed to have the greatest impact.

Proposals will be reviewed based on the overall impact, significance, innovation, approach, sustainability, and student interest. Please review the proposal guidelines for more detailed information prior to your submission. Awardees will be notified after May 14, 2021. Here are examples of successful proposals.

Thank you in advance for submitting your proposal to use the Student Technology Fee to enhance UMD technology services. Should you have any questions, please contact it...@umd.edu.

Sincerely,

Kislay Parashar | He/Him/His
