How To Clone a Sequoia system

1)Make sure to print out all Features of the unit to be cloned from.
And make a all FAS system backup to the MO disk.
2) Take out the original HDD and put aside. Put in a New HDD on the
cloned unit. . Plug in all cables to HDD assy. Turn on the system
and hold S+ Gate toggle switch up and release as soon as the screen
flashes
3) Perform a Initial Install. Select Yes to Verbose Output. Wait until
it finished loading the new version 9.51 software ( This process will
take awhile, The system will stop several times, Just let it run until
it finished upgrade ). Click OK to reboot the system.
4) Now, restore all original Features on the new HDD. Make sure
everything is working… ( features, color, calcs..)
5) Turn it OFF. Put in the RDP board from the cloning unit into this
cloned unit. Turn it ON and let it reprogramming the new serial number
onto this board until it fully booted up ( keep pressing Set up key
to make sure). Replace the RDP board to their original location.
6) Put in the PIC board from the cloning unit into this cloned unit.
And turn the system ON and let it re-programming the PIC completely as
the RDP board. Replace the PIC board to their original location.

Now , you should turn ON the cloning unit and check to see everything
is working as the cloned unit ( sn#, features…). Run & compare to see
anything works differently between the 2 units.

Side notes: - The cloning involves 3 parts: HDD, RDP and PIC. If you
have an extra set of these 3 parts. You can clone a full featured
system and keep the set to be used on a next cloning system.
- DON’T try to put both RDP and PIC board in and power up at the Same
time ???

Dear Sir,

My Sequoia C512 is working fine at this moment, but to prevent any hard drive failure in future, I cloned a new SCSI hard drive (300GB, with 80 pin to 68 pin adaptor + scsi controller installed in a desktop WinXP) from the original SCSI hard drive (73.4GB, 68 pin) using CloneZilla (sector by sector). Strangely, when I tested it by replacing the original hard drive with the cloned one, the system could not boot and showed an error message "System Error: 30".

I am not sure why and could you please advise?

Thanks,

Jack
