SEQUIOA 512 MO Disk is not ready

Just got a used Sequia 512. Powers up , after a few minutes of starting or trying to load it gives me the following

"System error: MO Disk is not ready please call service"

I called a service company. they asked for $775 just to come and take a look, then they will let me know what is wrong and how much

any idea whats going on and how to fix it ???
