I received a pointer to an interesting URL today:

www.ultracycling-us.blogspot.com

There is some very interesting reading there. I know that
this list doesn't contain all the UMCA members, but I would
recommend all UMCA members to spend a few lunch hour minutes
and read through. I *thought* I knew what was going on in
the UMCA, but there was a lot more info on this blog that I
was not aware of.

Many thanks to the person(s) that posted this material.

jack

Jack,
You are absolutely right, and unfortunately those of us that have been involved in trying to get to the truth and the trail of events, do not even know all the facts of what has been going on.. this is just what has surfaced through different channels.

My hope for the future of ultra cycling is that most ultra cyclists are honest people that want to operate in a democracy where the truth is clear, where information is not hidden and where the people have an ability to influence the organization that they own. Thank you for your post, it gives me hope.

Cat.

Terry, let me clarify:

UMCA's list address is ultrac...@googlegroups.com

This list is the independent one set up by Joe Gross  ultrac...@googlegroups.com and we are democracy here.  (Thank you, Joe Gross.)

The SaveUMCA team have a blog post about what happened and how we got "Joe Gross's" list, which got 7 years of topica posts on it all set up and ready over two months BEFORE UMCA's google list was opened.

Okay...you can say that it's showing why UMCA chose to have their townhall at yahoo to avoid any confusion...but we know better.  Furthermore, if we dare to question UMCA at yahoo, where Hughes is in control, we understand we will be booted off.

Here is our post with evidences relating these two google lists.

Mavis

Mavis -

You are right about this list.  The old Topica list was called 'ultracycling' and I occasionally forget the new UMCA list has a different name.  My apologies to the list.  I am not a List Manager on this list.

The yahoo list (ultracycling-talk) was specifically set up for political discussions, which does include questioning the leadership.  The only reason to get dropped from the yahoo list is profanity, character defamation, stuff like that.

my bad, Terry

I personally will not be on the yahoo, which is control by the same person who personal attacked people including me.  He clearly showed that he doesn't know the difference between personal attacking and what is leadership questioning.

Anyone can review the topica posts between very late April to May 2007 for general clarifying.
