Hi guys, Ive built the NE602 up converter from FAR circuits.  The VCC oscillator works great at 125Mhz until I hook it up to the C5 hooked to pin 6 of the NE602.  Then it goes away.

Can anyone help?

Thanks!

  It would be easier to help if you included links to the article, your oscillator's datasheet, and pictures.

  The NE602/SA602 is designed to work with a resonant circuit so to connect an oscillator omit circuitry connected to pin 7.

  There are sensitivity issues with using the '602 in an MF/HF Upconverter:

Thanks guys!  I discovered my problem was a poorly made board, with traces missing and holes not drilled in the proper places for parts placement.  This commercial board could never have worked!

Alexander and oppendus, I have indeed found the sensitivity of this up converter to be sorely lacking at HF.  Im intrigued by the designs using a simple J310 Fet.  I greatly appreciate your feedback!  Im using the article posted in January 2013 QST magazine, p.30.  My unit works great on VHF but not good with the NE602 upconverter.  Thanks again!

Er, what HF frequency and what kind of wet spaghetti noodle are you
using for an antenna?
