Subject: WFDF 2025 World Wheelchair Ultimate Championship [INFORMATION]
To:

Dear National Federations (Secretaries General, Administrators and Sport Development Listed Contacts),

Please find further information about the upcoming World Wheelchair Ultimate Championship:
  • 2025 World Wheelchair Ultimate Championship: The 2025 World Wheelchair Ultimate Championship will take place in Druskininkai, Lithuania, from September 18 to 21, featuring 6 teams.
  • Rules and Regulations:  Wheelchair Ultimate is a variant of Ultimate. The rules are similar but with modifications for players with physical impairments competing on a flat playing court of 28 m by 15 m in games of 40 mins, up to a score of 10. Teams compete with 4 players on the court. The full Rules and Regulations, formatted with highlights of differences with grass Ultimate, are available at the following link.
  • Discipline Development: If you're interested in developing Wheelchair Ultimate, consider reaching out to local Para Sport clubs, rehabilitation centers and your National Paralympic Committee to host "Come and Try" sessions for potential athletes.
    • 2027 World Championships: The next edition of the World Wheelchair Ultimate Championship will take place in 2027 with bids currently being assessed. We would be happy to work with you in the coming years to support the development of the discipline in your country.
  • WFDF Para Sport: If you or a member of your community, such as a physiotherapist with experience working with athletes with a disability, are eager to support the development of Para Sport within WFDF (i.e., not solely Ultimate for athletes with physical disabilities), such as the creation of the athlete classification system and other resources, please reach out.

If you have any questions, comments or concerns, please contact us. We would be more than happy to connect and support.

Best,

Dillon Richardson
