Can someone please help me on how to install a new application like Libre Office Writer on Ulteo Application Server 4.0.3?

The only option i see is Static Application and it requires a path. When i install libre on the server and add it to ulteo_sources.list after enetering the path to the .deb on user desktop view  it still doesnt execute when i click or show up at the list of applications.

If anyone has faced the same thing and solved I would really appreciate it if they could give me some tips.

For installing an application, you need be in your chroot environnement.
This is requiring if you install ulteo in other distribution than ubuntu/debian
Be advice that the version in the chroot subsystem is ubuntu 10.04, so not much to do in there.

chroot /opt/ulteo
sudo apt-get install libreoffice
service ulteo-ovd-slaveserver restart

If you installed Ulteo in ubuntu, you can simply install the apps in terminal.

sudo apt-get install libreoffice
service ulteo-ovd-slaveserver restart

Hi Phillippe, how are you?
Please let me know, I'm using Ulteo 4.0.3 on a chroot environment, with Ubuntu 10.0.4 (OVD) and Ubuntu 12.04.5 LTS with root environment, the problem is that applications version on Ulteo OVD is too old, and I can't update packages, like Firefox, so is possible to use firefox of root environment in OVD environment? How to proceed?

With Best Regards

Josue

I'm good, thank you.
Well you should definitely install Ulteo directly on ubuntu 14.04.
As for upgrading the chroot environment, I'm not sure if it's possible
Maybe the Ulteo team could help you with that.

i find a way to upgrade application like firefox etc ....

you have to modify the path in database and put /usr/bin/firefox

tar gz of firefox into /opt/firefox

and make little other changes and it works perfectly,

i take a look and will provide more details on how can do that if it interests someone, there is a long time i dont' have use it
