If you buy the premium pass you can collect the items from the free pass as well. The pass does reset 15 days from now (May 14, 2024). Not sure how it was before as I played the game on xbox only 2-3 times. There is also a shop with items you can buy, those items do reset but each item seems to reset on different dates. And the price for the items does vary.
It's not great but you can download the mobile version of the game on your phone and login with the same account as you did for the PSN version. That way you can spin for free gems to spend on the console version. That's how freemium games usually are.
By spending a lot of time on the game do you mean many hours in total, or playing it for many weeks? Because the truth is I've seen the list of trophies and it doesn't seem like you have to spend many hours on it, although I'm not very aware of how the stumble guys articles are going.
I can confirm that all duplicates don't count towards skin/emote/trail/animation trophies. I'm at 3/40 skins right now and got 2 duplicates skins that I had when I played the game long ago on my phone and I'm still at 3/40... So if you don't care about your previous account on steam/phone, I would just start from scratch on playstation so you get the skin trophie more easily.
seems like if you don't pay and just unlock everything in the free/premium passes every month I can see this plat taking 3 lots of that, so maybe 3 months to unlock all the emotes, skins and whatever else you need?
I tried that, but so far I only got a total of 40 gems, now I have to wait a day to get more chances of free gem spins. I noticed on mobile you can get better deals for gems that transfer to PS4/5 as well. However, any items you buy on mobile do NOT count for the trophies and some don't even transfer. So the mobile version is only good for some free/cheaper gems. I added that to the topic.
So as a guy who has some apple money to waste since i dont play mobile games at all, Is the starter pass enough to get the plat if you finish the battle pass or what? I've never touched this game at all but since i enjoyed my time with the fall guys plat i've been interested in doing this, So i'm just curious is the starter pass enough for the plat? Cause i notice you have the plat already so i'm curious on how you got all the cosmetic achievements
No, if you start from scratch buying the battle pass definitely is not enough. As mentioned in the starting post, you can only get a total of 7 Emotes, 2 Footsteps, 2 Animations, 19 Skins with the battle pass. You would have to spend some more money on the mobile version and even then it isn't enough. Although I haven't checked the mobile store today how many items you can get there at the moment.
