Sujon and Pori fall in love at first sight and start meeting secretly. They exchange gifts and letters, with the help of Sujon's friend Rana (Mehedi Hasan Ariyan), who can read and write. However, their romance is soon discovered by Pori's father, who is furious and beats up Sujon. He also arranges Pori's marriage with Shuvo (Ridoyan Bhuiyan), the son of another wealthy landlord. Pori is devastated and tries to elope with Sujon, but they are caught by Shuvo's men, who torture Sujon and leave him for dead.
Pori is forced to marry Shuvo, who turns out to be a cruel and abusive husband. He rapes her on their wedding night and beats her regularly. He also locks her up in his house and prevents her from seeing anyone. Meanwhile, Sujon survives the attack and recovers with the help of a kind doctor (Misha Sawdagor). He learns to read and write from Rana and decides to rescue Pori from her misery.
He manages to sneak into Shuvo's house and meets Pori, who is overjoyed to see him alive. They plan to escape together, but they are again caught by Shuvo, who shoots Sujon in front of Pori. Sujon dies in Pori's arms, while Shuvo is arrested by the police. The film ends with Pori crying over Sujon's body, while his mother and sister mourn his death.
