HI all - i just wondered whether it might be useful for people to list
their top ten most useful items (preferable non chemical) in their
first aid kits - as i know people are often asking this forum for the
best solutions and i for one often read them and think oh i must get
some of that... and then forget! Lisa and Ollie.

after a good dig

If you mean for field emergencies ?
Very much the same as a human kit from your car, with perhaps the
addition of a dry razor to get plasters to stick and more antiseptic
wipes. The phone number of your vet or local PDSA

I would/do always have Bach's Rescue Remedy, at least 2 types of
bandages - not just to cover a wound but to make an emergency
'muzzle', antiseptic wipes, tick remover, tweezers, antihistamine, eye
drops, scissors, towel/blanket, digital thermometer and a supply of
any medication any of my dogs is taking. Sorry, more than 10 items. I
also always keep 4 (I have 4 dogs) spare slip leads in the car, just
in case I am stupid enough to forget to take their usual leads; they
are also easier to use in an emergency. Vet's phone number is good (I
know mine off by heart, unfortunately). I also have an enamel dog bowl
and a water bottle in the car (keep the water fresh at all times).
A supply of 'poo' bags and some dog wash down wipes is also useful for
non emergencies such as rolling in a wet cowpat or similar on a
walk.......
