Good question Barry - going by the names we call our dogs, we all have very
different opinions on names. :)

But... my one suggestion would be to go to the park and call it out loud...
this lets you know if it's easy to call loudly, and I also like to have a
strong 'sounds' somewhere - either a good 'ee' type vowel somewhere or a
nice hard consonant at the beginning or in the middle. These things can take
the name a little out of 'normal conversation' for the dog and make them
more likely to alert to it.

Other than that it's a free for all I think. Do you know her registered
name? It might give you some inspiration - love names that 'connect' to the
dog's registered name somehow.

Regards
Ros

Just thinking about names I've called dogs in the past and remembering how
long it took one of my Great Danes to know her name was Hannah. I think it
was just 'too soft' for her :) Seemed to take months before she really
recognised it 'out and about'... she was a sweet girl too, wanting to
please.
Cheers
Ros

Hi Barry

I find my dogs give themselves their names! As long as it is not similar to a word frequently used....sit come down ok etc anything goes. My youngest, I spent a week trying to think of a name for him. Picked him up, still no name, half way home, looked back at him asleep in his cage, thought you are a little cracker (not an expression I would normally use!) Cracker he is........ and continues to be!
