Facebook just updated chat (yet again) and now a new fixed side bar stays on the left of the screen. when its contents overflow, a scroll bar appears, but only if scrolled with the mouse wheel or if mouse moves over (or near) the scroll bar. It fades out if the mouse is not over it. it is very useful for thing windowed objects (such as the chat itself). So how does it work?

This might not be the exact answer to the question, because it is asked for a solution without jQuery. But I came here via a search engine and I am using jQuery. If you want a solution that feels as smooth as and looks exactly like in facebook, take a look at this:

I would like to revive this thread for the benefit of future visitors and essentially sum up the other answers to this thread. I prefer jsFancyScroll (thanks Leo Selig!) as well as nanoScrollerJS (thanks ip!) because they both "retain the natural scrolling experience provided by the OS." Just try searching for a selection of text and then looking at the location of the scrollbar in the various implementations to see what I mean.

Hi!
I have create my Facebook Page by help of sitepoint user. Thanks for helping me.
Now.
I want to know how can I create Page like that I post my friends wall. If anyone click that link it instantly like my page.
Please help me.

Thank you for reply. But this not enough for me. I am not want web URL like code. I want direct page like link code. That I will past my friends wall and if anyone click that link it generate instant like my facebook page.

Such links are prohibited and you can very easy loose your account over such thing. Make your page interesting with a lot of fresh content and you will find the right way to get likes. Of course, you can always search for a good social media agency to help you out.

One of my friends on Facebook did a mass invite that I am interested doing myself. I got a message in my notification section which linked his page. I could click on that link and directly "like" the page. The text in my notification's list read, "[Name of friend] has invited you to like his new page [name of page with a link]."

I would like to do this for my own business's page. I have hit "Share" which makes the site show up on my profile, but people are liking my share, which doesn't give me the result I want. I would like people to be invited to like my site directly so they can get status updates and see our pictures and promotions. I'm fairly certain that these friends are interested in such a thing, they just aren't Facebook savvy enough to know how to do that. I'm hoping the notification to directly like the page will help them understand and streamline the process so the friends who want to connect with my business can "like" the site and I can leave my other friends alone.

Use the dropdown menu to choose a list or select Search All Friends. Next, scroll through your friends and check the boxes next to the names of the people you want to invite. You can also search for friends in the menu's search box. When you're done selecting friends, be sure to click Submit to send your friends invitations to your Page.

The site is secure.
The https:// ensures that you are connecting to the official website and that any information you provide is encrypted and transmitted securely.

Facebook, the most widely used social media platform, has been adopted by public health organisations for health promotion and behaviour change campaigns and activities. However, limited information is available on the most effective and efficient use of Facebook for this purpose. This study sought to identify the features of Facebook posts that are associated with higher user engagement on Australian public health organisations' Facebook pages. We selected 20 eligible pages through a systematic search and coded 360-days of posts for each page. Posts were coded by: post type (e.g., photo, text only etc.), communication technique employed (e.g. testimonial, informative etc.) and use of marketing elements (e.g., branding, use of mascots). A series of negative binomial regressions were used to assess associations between post characteristics and user engagement as measured by the number of likes, shares and comments. Our results showed that video posts attracted the greatest amount of user engagement, although an analysis of a subset of the data suggested this may be a reflection of the Facebook algorithm, which governs what is and is not shown in user newsfeeds and appear to preference videos over other post types. Posts that featured a positive emotional appeal or provided factual information attracted higher levels of user engagement, while conventional marketing elements, such as sponsorships and the use of persons of authority, generally discouraged user engagement, with the exception of posts that included a celebrity or sportsperson. Our results give insight into post content that maximises user engagement and begins to fill the knowledge gap on effective use of Facebook by public health organisations.

There's this great Andy Warhol quote you've probably seen before: "I think everybody should like everybody." You can buy posters and plates with pictures of Warhol, looking like the cover of a Belle & Sebastian album, with that phrase plastered across his face in Helvetica. But the full quote, taken from a 1963 interview in Art News, is a great description of how we interact on social media today.

Warhol: Someone said that Brecht wanted everybody to think alike. I want everybody to think alike. But Brecht wanted to do it through Communism, in a way. Russia is doing it under government. It's happening here all by itself without being under a strict government; so if it's working without trying, why can't it work without being Communist? Everybody looks alike and acts alike, and we're getting more and more that way.
I think everybody should be a machine. I think everybody should like everybody.
Art News: Is that what Pop Art is all about?
Warhol: Yes. It's liking things.
Art News: And liking things is like being a machine?
Warhol: Yes, because you do the same thing every time. You do it over and over again.

I can see Facebook share and Facebook Comments working fine at your website. Recently other people were also facing issue with Facebook like, share and comments. So, it seems some temporary issue on the end of Facebook which has been taken care of.

No, they are still not working on my website. Please find bellow the printscreens of the issue.
Guess you checked through mobile or palmtop, but I have these problem only on desktops and laptops.

I still do face the problem.
I have checked with different laptops and desktops from different places.
Here are the printscreens of the missing fb active areas.
1. Missing fb recommend button, befor content, left align (left to linkedin button.)
2. Missing fb comments active area, just the headlines are visible.
3. I cant printscreen the missing fb like button as there is only empty space after content, align center.

If your Like Ad creative breaks one of Facebook's Advertising Guidelines, they will let you know so you can update your ad accordingly. You may want to review their rules on prohibited content, text in images, and other information before launching larger advertising campaigns.

The funny thing about my ad was the title of "Grace Bible Church of Gatesville" is actually 7 characters too long. But since I created it through this "Get More Likes" option, it will post as is. However, once I go in and edit the ad, I have to shorten it.

Unlike earlier Promote Page and Create Ad options from your Facebook page, you have more options for audience targeting in Ads Manager. First, you have your standard demographics, interests, and behavioral targeting.

If you have a product meant for a certain age, it's best to target by age. Again, this is totally dependent on your business and brand. For me, I always choose 20 & over at minimum -- because unless your product is teen-related, you might be wasting ad dollars.

Previously, the Facebook Right Column was a popular option for Facebook Like Ads, but this has now been disabled in the manual placements. It is no longer compatible with this particular marketing/ad objective.

Last, but not least, you will create the ad that generates your Facebook Page Likes. First, you'll set your Identity (your Facebook Page) and type of media (single image or video is usually selected).

The trick is that the providers work on the same principle with a few exceptions, such as Twitter does not always return the email address, it must be taken into account.
If you can implement login through facebook, you can also do it with other social networks.
But how to get the keys on different social networks will help you Youtube

I tried to follow the blog you shared with me for facebook auth implementation and found that its not latest and so are the other resources I found on other social auth providers available in strapi. So, to confirm if social auth is still feasible with strapi can you check if we are still able to implement these providers in strapi.

Facebook designed the option to hide likes so that users will focus more on the photos and videos rather than the likes. This could make for a healthier, more positive environment in which users have the freedom to express themselves. As a result, we may be able to see creativity flourish as creators get the courage to experiment and exhibit their originality.

For many brands, turning off like counts on Facebook is a great way to encourage your audience to judge the content objectively. This is particularly helpful for brands that are just starting to grow their presence on the platform.
