- The Hon Francis John Hilary Norton (b 28 Sept 1960), 2nd son of the late 7th Baron Grantley, MC (1923-95), by his wife the former Lady Deirdre Mary Hare (now Lady Deirdre Curteis); married at Kensington & Chelsea, Apr 2004, Eva M. Figder, and a son, John Ferenc B. Norton, was born in 2005 (registered Oct 2005) at London Lambeth.

- The 3rd Baron Baillieu's 3rd gave a birth to a son, Hon Michael James (b. 2005), His Lordship's second son. The elder son and heir, Hon Robert Latham, b. 1979 is unmarried.

- The Rt Hon Richard John Dighton Annesley, 15th Viscount of Valentia has died on August 20, 2005. He was succeeded by his eldest son, Hon Francis William Dighton, born 1959. The 16th Viscount's younger brother, Hon Peter John, b. 1967 is the heir presumptive. A middle brother, Hon. Richard, b. 1962, died in a car accident in 1989.

- Sir Robert Mark Russell, KCMG, late of Her Majesty's Diplomatic service, Ambassador to Turkey, 1983-86, died from rheumatoid arthritis, 11 July, 2005. He was aged 75. He was born 3 September, 1929, the son of Sir Robert E. Russell, CSI, CIE, and was educated at Trinity College, Glenalmond; Exeter College, Oxford [MA].

-Michael Cosmo Bonsor, b. 1926 - d. 20 August 2005, scion of the Bonsor Baronets (Cr. 1925), son of Robert Cecil Bonsor, MC (1880-1932), by his wife, the former Enid Lawrence, [and grandson of Sir Henry Cosmo OrmeBonsor, 1st Baronet, a Conservative MP and Director of the Bank of England;
Michael was educated at Eton; served as Lieutenant, Grenadier Guards, 1944-47; married 1951, Ann Marie, daughter of Marcus Wallenberg, by whom he had issue; died 20 August, 2005. The funeral is at All Saints Church, Soulbury, Friday 26 Aug 2005.

- Richard Cox-Johnson died on 25 Mar 2005, a successful merchant banker, he was the second husband of Lady Caroline Burnett-Armstrong, nee Rous, a daughter of the short-
tenured 5th Earl of Stradbroke (and half-sister of the present earl). Born 4 October 1934, the younger of two children. His father had been managing director of the Portland Building Society but died young. Cox-Johnson was brought up by his devoted mother and his elder sister Ann (the historian Ann Saunders). He married first, in 1959, Judith Mary Swindells, whom he had met when they were both undergraduates at Oxford; they had four sons [three sons are mentioned in the legal fight - James, Tim, and Nicholas]. After Judith's death in April 1997, he married secondly, in 1999, Lady Caroline Burnett-Armstrong, a daughter of the 5th Earl of Stradbroke; she had three sons by her first marriage (husband deceased).
