is there a lightweight Linux that'll run with 350mhz system with 64 mb ram?
Have looked at edubuntu but it was sooo slow, taking 8+mins to boot up. Need
something simple to run and install on systems to be used in Ghana. Like
edubuntu idea as the games for the children are there but obviously they can
be selected/loaded separately (Gcompris etc). Trying to get away from
Ms98......

Using Opera's revolutionary e-mail client: http://www.opera.com/mail/

Hi,

You could try DSL, Damn Small Linux. It claims to be for the type of
system you are referring to. Go to www.damnsmalllinux.org and have a look.

Good luck.

I would also recomend DSL. There are other lite distros but they tend to
be very geekie and hard to live with...

If you find DSL too light you can install more complicated software once
it's installed. Or if you like the whole ubuntu thing there is a lite
version called Xubuntu. There again 64Mb or ram might be too small...
DSL is your best bet...
