Data access in Rail app

Hi,

I just found uki and would like to give it a try. Could somebody give
me a hint what's the preferred way to access a Rail application to
retrieve data? Don't get me wrong: I know jQuery and Ajax, but some
posts here mention uki.ajax and uki.data, but non of them are in the
"official" documentation. That's no complain! Its fine for an new open
source project. But so I decided to ask here for a starting point.
Reading examples and source code is no problem.
