I was watching the track of those thunderstorms for other reasons. We
heard plenty of thunder, but nothing came close to us and we had a dry
day. One lot of storms went past a few miles to the west of us and the
other lot a few miles to the east.

Sometimes a mile or three can end up making a lot of difference...
