Hi folks – a probable flight today  – approximate launch area middle, West Germany.

A atmospheric research team (with the opportunity of low aircraft pollution) using one of my LoRa / RTTY trackers.

The flight may/may not go ahead depending on tragetory not getting too close to Belgium (border still closed)

Frequency: 434.420 callsign X0

LoRa (PITS gateway Lora Mode 0):
EXPLICIT_MODE;
ERROR_CODING_4_8;
BANDWIDTH_20K8;
SPREADING_11;
LowDataRateOptimize Enabled;

RTTY:
75baud
490Hz shift
7N2

Any help tracking would be greatly appreciated.

I got my LoRa gateway up just as it started the descent, perhaps next time...

Hope it is recovered, looks like it might have landed in forest.

Hi Steve, I am a bit wondered.... It looks that from the same location, Julich, an RS41 tracker was launched with 3 different externar sensors, but the X0 tracker appeared to contain only GPS data and was not on the same paylaod as the RS41 tracker.

Was there a reason to fly a second balloon with different payload and tracker ?

Thanks,

Ben

There are a couple of teams launching atmospheric research flights (different objectives).  I think they launch at similar times to cross check the data.  There was a separate data logger on the same flight as X0 (which is just for tracking).

More news later.
