Hi, I'm Daniele from Livorno, Italy. I'm new to this mailing list as well as to HABing in general. I'm collecting info just to understand the feasibility of a camera-equipped HAB from my geographic position and the flight route prediction is a "go/no go" decision factor for me.
Playing with some on line predictors seemed to give more or less the same results, that is a landing site about 150-200 kilometers away towards east from the launching site, which would make the experiment definitely not feasible. Am I using not the right tools/data? Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks.

The direction of winds change everyday. So you can try changing the date on the Sondehub predictor and see the where its likely to go. There will certainly be some days that are more favourable than others.

The Sondehub predictor pretty accurate in my experience, as long as you get the input parameters accurate(e.g. Ascent rate, Descent rate, Burst altitude).
You may be able to use the burst altitude calculator here: http://randomaerospace.com/Random_Aerospace/Balloons.html

The Summer months are generally far better than the winter.   In the winter I have had flights that land a few hundred Km away.  In the Summer flights might typically be 30 - 50 Km.  Ive even had Summer flights that land a couple of Km away from the launch.
