Hi everyone,
A quick call-out about Reclaim the Night in London on Saturday 22 November: http://www.ldnfeministnetwork.ik.com/p_RTN2008.ikml
I'm volunteering as a chief runner on the day, along with Finn Mackay's sister - and I am looking for volunteers to do this with us. It's not a really big commitment, but a good way to get involved in helping out. I'm just going to cut and paste Finn's description of what it involves:
"On the day the main thing is just to keep your phone on and in your hand and walk up and down the march making sure there are no big gaps, no incidents happen etc. If they do you don't have to be responsible for them, just tell the Chief Stewards at the front who will then decide what to do. So its not too scary."
We'll be working in pairs, as well, so you'll not be on your own or anything.
Apart from that, the only thing it involves is going to a session in October (date to be confirmed) for stewards. It would be really great if you want to volunteer, or alternatively if you know anyone else who you think might like to volunteer please do pass this message on :)

Hey Jess,
I'd be interested in doing this as long as the stewards session is at the weekend (and not on 7th Sept - the adidas 5k run...which I will probably not be fit enough to do but am considering it), otherwise I won't be able to get to London in time I don't think.
It will be good practice for our Birmingham RTN :) Yes, it's happening - on Jan 17th (sat) - we are planning it now so more details to come!
