I have an Old Turkic keyboard name that I'd like to modify its name, it's attached.

At first, the name included the character 𐰰, which is similar to 𐰜, but different in codepoint. I've changed all the instances of 𐰰 to 𐰜 by going in to package contents, but when I reopen the bundle, the keyboard layout name still has the character 𐰰.

I can't do it through Ukulele, from the Info box, it does not work there either.

Any help is appreciated.

I was able to circumvent the issue via creating a new bundle.

PS: It's also not possible to drag an existing layout file and drop it to the bundle window.

Congratulations!

Still…
If you had read a little in Ukelele’s manual (PDF manual page with nr. 66), you would have seen that one should rename keyboard layouts inside Ukelele, not in the Finder.

And also that you can manage the contents of keyboard layout collections ("bundles") very nicely inside Ukelele (PDF manual page with nr. 19).

On my Mac, the Orkhon script isn’t always displayed (see the bundle window in the picture), but I hope that on more recent MacOS versions, it shows properly everywhere.

Oops! I was checking for the wrong type of data in the drag (it's a file
URL, not a URL). A fix will go into the next version, whenever I can do
that.

Thank you!

BTW, is there any chance a layout name might get clipped in macOS entry? Normally it should display 𐰜𐰇𐰚 𐱅𐰇𐰼𐰜𐰲𐰀, but it just displays 𐰜𐰇𐰚 𐱅𐰇𐰼. I think this is a macOS bug (and reported already) but just wanted to double check.

Also this means that the localisation of the layout name is not working as well. :)) Normally it should display "Eski Türkçe" on my Turkish system. If I may request, can you also check on your system as well?

Best,
Emir

On my 10.11 (El Capitán) it looks like this:

Thanks for trying. I'll try to debug it further. Just to note, this is with the new bundle I've created, so there is definitely a bug/misstep that causes this.
