Hi Ukelele users,
I have created a custom keyboard layout for my constructed language Bløjhvåtterskyll, so I should be able to type it easier.
But after saving the layout and placing it into the Keyboard Layouts folder, it will not appear in the input methods list where it should appear. Relogging doesn't fix the problem. The keyboard layout is attached.
I am using Mac OS X 10.6.8 and Ukelele 2.2.8 as 3.0.2 doesn't work because my computer is too old.
What's wrong with the layout?
I hope you can fix my problem.
Regards,
Someone from the Netherlands

Hi Bløj,

You haven’t given your custom layout a custom name!
You have changed the file name, but not the name that is read by OS X. For the Mac, the name is still "Dutch".

How to change the name that’s stored inside the keyboard layout (and which will show up on the Mac’s menu bar later on):
In Ukelele, open your custom layout, go to menu "Keyboard", click on option "Set Keyboard name and script…" and type the name you want to show up.
While you are there, also make the script "Unicode", not "Roman".

If you can’t find this in 10.6.8, let me know, so I can have a look on my older Mac how exactly things work there.
In the worst case, I can rename the layout you uploaded and post it back to you.

@Geke
Thanks, it works now! I can type now using my custom layout :)
But... there are still a few problems :(
• when typing a "custom" letter it gets underlined until you type another one
• at one of the keys I have this thing " ´  ". When I type that and afterwards an " e " , I do not get " é " , but " ´e " . What's wrong?
Greetings :)

@Geke Nvm, I got it to work as it should. It's fine now. :)
