Hi.

I don't know why but the keyboard representation in ukulele do not have the key where is the char < and > between left SHIFT and X key on the picture provided.
Another key is missing. The */μ key which is just above the Right SHIFT.

How can I do to have those keys ?
I'm trying to map a French PC keyboard.

There are two basic types of physical keyboards: one called ISO, usual in Europe, with an extra key left to Z on the US qwerty keyboard (or Y on the qwertz); one called ANSI, usual in the U.S. In UKELELE, go to View, then Keyboard Type, shortcut command-K, and choose the display you wish.
Note that the keylayout should be compatibile with both basic types, therefore note that the char on the key left to Z / Y on the ISO variant moves to the key left to 1 if the keyboard is ANSI, and what had been there… vanishes. Therefore, put that char twice, somewhere at the option-key level.

Thank you.
I think I've tried all the keyboard provided but I do not find my PC key board.

The nearest one could be the standard ADB keyboard
except I have 4 key on the right of the space key.

I think my keyboard is a standard PC keyboard.
This keyboard type should be in the list !

here it is

This is a Keysonic KSK-8021

yes, this is the aluminum AZERTY (French or French-based) ISO keyboard, with the extra key left to W in your case (it is Z on U.S. ISO and Y on the QWERTZ or German or German-based physical keyboard). This means that, if you open U.S. keylayout and choose the U.S. keyboard (ANSI, not ISO), you will get the display you mentioned. If you open the French keylayout, it will probably match your physical keyboard. The physical keyboards sold in various countries of the world follow the local display of the keys and they match the keylayout usual in that country. This does not mean you cannot use any other physical keyboard, including a non-Apple one, just that there is an optical lack of comfort, as the keylayout may be (radically) different from what you see on the keys on the physical keyboard, i.e. you must memorize the discrepancies between the keylayout and the actual keys. The discrepancy is maximal if you activate, say, a Cyrillic keyboard or Korean or any other non-Latin keylayout.
I do not know if what I have written solves your problems, please come back and explain. If you have a physical AZERTY (French) keyboard and you are not familiar with it, it is obvious that this may be a problem; or, if you are familiar with it, if you activate U.S. keylayout or any other U.S.-based keylayout, you will feel uncomfortable. Now, what is your problem, once these problems are hopefully clear?

Thanks for the good info what you have and what you want to do!
The bottom line is: You can’t use all the keys on a PC keyboard. The best you can do is use the standard ADB keyboard which you already found.

Of course, the layout will work with any keyboard you connect, but not for 100%. Some keys don’t produce character codes, but command codes and therefore cannot be handled by Ukelele. Other programs can remap cursor keys etc., as has been described on this group many times before...

Good luck!

The list of available keyboards is provided by Apple in the form of a list of resources, and hasn't been updated in a long time. It's unfortunate, and I have not heard what the replacement for the mechanism is (there must be one, since the Keyboard Viewer has to use something like it). Since it's Apple's keyboards that are in focus, they are not going to support third-party keyboards in this way.
