Last month I was working on updating the manual, and got to the section on modifiers. I realised that I had designed a new version of the modifiers table for the next major version of Ukelele, and it would be nice to use that in the current version. That took longer than expected, partly due to my other responsibilities requiring a lot of attention, but it’s done now.

So, here is a new beta version. I’m hoping that it will work well, since it’s Midsummer Eve tomorrow, and Finland shuts down for the next several days! Here’s the change list:

• The modifiers tab has been redesigned to be hopefully simpler to understand.
• The Install and Uninstall menu items are now enabled and disabled correctly.
• Install and Export Installer Disk Image are now only enabled once a new keyboard layout collection (or stand-alone keyboard layout) has been saved the first time.

As usual, it should be available via Software Update or by downloading from https://software.sil.org/ukelele/.
