Have some friends over who are more up on things in the SIL Int’l world and found out that SIL bought Keyman and then I saw there is now a Keyman for Mac. How does this mesh with Ukelele? I had always thought Ukelele was really the only solution for dealing with keyboard issues for the Mac since Keyman was a Windows-only application.

Keyman for Mac doesn't let you make keyboards. It is an app which can install all sorts of keyboards provided by its authors.

To make keyboards yourself for the Keyman app requires a program which does not yet run on a Mac as far as I know.
