hi group, I have re-mapped my number keys 7-0 and some others to my convenience. I wanted (so I don't have to think) to use the same new key values for combinations with ALT and CMD.

now, the ALT modifier works. when I press ALT-0 I get "}" as desired.
the CMD modifier does NOT work - when I press CMD-0 ... nothing happens. or firefox switches to the 10th tab.

any idea why that is?

thanks in advance,
axel.

What usually happens when you type a command key combination is that the
system tries to work out if it's a keyboard shortcut for a command.
Different apps work differently, but a common way is to look at what the
key produces without the command key, and use that as determining
whether it is a keyboard shortcut.

Putting it another way, using the command key to get different output
does not work reliably, and you're better off choosing a different
combination.
