*apologies for cross posting*
Good morning,
It gives me great pleasure to share with you Malaria Consortium's latest advocacy report: ‘Community-based primary healthcare: the key to unlock health for all’
The report makes the case for the urgent need to invest in community-based primary healthcare (CBPHC) as a cost-effective means of extending vital health services to remote, hard-to-reach communities, and tackling burdens of diseases such as NTDs.
CBPHC involves training volunteer community health workers to provide basic health services, such as diagnosis and treatment for malaria, NTDs, pneumonia and diarrhoea, to their communities.
All causes of under-five child mortality can be tackled with sufficiently trained, supported and supervised community health workers, and therefore this report advocates for the scale up of CBPHC to support disease elimination, address the growing global health worker gap and achieve universal health coverage for all.
To find out more you can read the report here.
You can also watch a short ‘all you need to know’ video highlighting the key recommendations.
We would appreciate your support in sharing this report with your partners, networks and coalitions. Please find some example messages to share on social media:
If you have any questions, or would like to discuss issues raised in the report further, please let me know.
Kind regards,
Oliver
